ResumeFit is an AI-powered resume builder and resume management platform. Your privacy matters to us: your resume content belongs to you, we do not sell your personal information, and we only work with the trusted providers needed to run the Service. This Privacy Policy applies to everyone who visits our website or uses ResumeFit to create, edit, import, analyze, download, or manage resumes, whether you use a free feature or purchase a premium template. It covers information collected through our website, our application, our backend services, and the third-party services we integrate with.

We collect only the information we need to provide and improve the Service.

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication details. If you register with email and password, your password is stored only as a securely salted and hashed value — we never store your password in plain text.

Personal Information

Resumes naturally contain personal details. When you build or import a resume, you may provide information such as your full name, phone number, postal or email address, work history, education, skills, certifications, links, and any other content you choose to include.

Resume Information

We store the resume content you create, edit, or generate so you can save, revisit, update, and manage multiple resumes across sessions and devices.

Uploaded Files

If you use our import feature, we process the resume files you upload in order to extract and structure their content for editing within ResumeFit.

Generated PDFs

When you download a resume, we generate a PDF from your content. Generated documents are associated with your account so you can access and re-download them.

Payment Information

Payments for premium templates are processed by our payment gateway, Razorpay. ResumeFit does not collect or store your credit card details, debit card details, CVV, or banking credentials. We store only payment references, order IDs, and payment status to confirm purchases, unlock entitlements, verify transactions, and provide support.

Analytics Information

We collect aggregated and event-level analytics about how the Service is used — such as features accessed, pages viewed, and actions taken — to understand performance and improve the experience.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure usage, and, where applicable, support advertising. See the Cookies section below for details.

4. How We Use AI (OpenAI) and Your Resume Content

ResumeFit uses artificial intelligence services provided by OpenAI to deliver features including resume improvement, resume generation, resume rewriting, resume import, ATS optimization, and resume analysis.

To provide these features, the relevant portions of your resume text may be securely transmitted to and processed by our AI provider solely for the purpose of generating the requested output and returning it to you. This happens only when you actively use an AI-assisted feature.

We do not claim ownership of your resumes. Your resume content remains yours. We do not use your resume content to train our own foundational AI models. Because AI features involve processing the text you submit, please avoid entering sensitive personal information (such as government identification numbers, financial account numbers, or health information) that you do not want processed for these features. AI-generated suggestions may contain inaccuracies, so please review all output before use.

5. Authentication and Google Sign-In

You can sign in to ResumeFit using either email and password or Google OAuth (Sign in with Google).

When you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares a limited set of profile information with us so we can create and authenticate your account. This typically includes your name, email address, Google account identifier, and profile picture (where available). We do not receive your Google password, and we request only the minimum information necessary to log you in. Your use of Google Sign-In is also governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Payments and Razorpay

Premium template purchases are processed by Razorpay, a third-party payment gateway. When you make a payment, your card, banking, or UPI details are collected and processed directly by Razorpay under their own security standards and privacy practices.

ResumeFit does not store your credit card details, debit card details, CVV, or banking credentials. We retain only payment references, order IDs, and payment status to confirm your purchase, grant entitlements, verify transactions, prevent fraud, and provide support. Your payment information is subject to Razorpay's Privacy Policy.

7. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we never sell your resume content. We share information only with trusted service providers, and only to the extent necessary to operate the Service:

• OpenAI — to provide AI-powered resume features (processing resume text you submit).
• Google — for authentication (Google Sign-In) and, where applicable, advertising and analytics.
• Razorpay — to securely process payments for premium templates.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — to host our infrastructure, store data, and operate the Service.
• Analytics providers — to measure and improve product usage and performance.

These providers may use your information only to perform services for us and are expected to protect it. We may also disclose information when required to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we will continue to protect your information consistent with this Policy).

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account and resume information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

• Account information is retained while your account remains active.
• Resume content and generated PDFs are retained so you can manage them, and are removed when you delete them or close your account.
• Payment records may be retained for the period required for accounting, tax, and legal compliance.

You may delete individual resumes at any time, and you may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at resumefit.store@gmail.com. When you request deletion, we will remove your personal data from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law. Residual copies may remain in secure, encrypted backups for a limited time and are overwritten or deleted on our regular backup rotation cycle.

9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

Where required, we take appropriate safeguards for international data transfers and handle your information consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

ResumeFit is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction, such as 16 in parts of the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
