What ResumeFit is
ResumeFit is a resume builder and free ATS checker for people applying to technical and professional roles. You can scan a resume you already have to see how applicant tracking software reads it, or build a new one from a template designed to survive that parsing — then export a PDF and apply.
Why we built it
Two things make job applications harder than they need to be. Most resume advice online is written to fill a page rather than to answer a specific question, and most resume tools optimise for looking impressive on screen rather than being readable by the software that screens applications before a person ever sees them. A resume can be beautifully designed and still arrive in a recruiter's database with half its content in the wrong field.
ResumeFit is built around that second problem. Every template is structured so a parser can read it, and the checker tells you what a parser actually sees rather than giving you a grade with no explanation.
How the ATS checker works
When you submit a resume, we extract its text the way an applicant tracking system would — no rendering, no images, just the characters a parser can reach. We then score it across six dimensions:
- Contact details — whether your name, email, and phone are present and in a place a parser will find them, rather than buried in a header or an image.
- Sections — whether standard sections (experience, skills, education) are present and recognisable.
- Structure — whether the document's order and hierarchy survive extraction.
- Formatting — layout choices that commonly break parsing, such as multi-column text, tables used for layout, and text inside images.
- Keywords — how your skills and terminology line up with the role you are targeting.
- Readability — sentence and bullet construction, vague phrasing, and whether achievements are quantified.
Alongside the score you get specific, ranked suggestions. We would rather tell you that your dates did not parse than hand you a number you cannot act on.
How our templates are built
Every template in the catalogue is designed single-column-friendly, with standard section headings, real text instead of images for anything that matters, and consistent date formatting. Colour and typography are applied at render time, so choosing a different look never changes the underlying structure a parser reads. Each design is checked against an automated layout suite before it ships.
How we make money
We would rather be direct about this than leave you guessing:
- One-time template purchases. Templates are priced individually, from free up to ₹299. You pay once for a design and keep access to it.
- No subscriptions. We do not bill recurring fees, and there is no trial that silently converts into a charge. Payments are processed by Razorpay; we never see or store your card details.
- Advertising. Some pages — our written guides and the ATS checker — carry ads from Google AdSense. Our builder, pricing, and checkout pages do not, because we do not think advertising belongs in the middle of something you are paying for.
The ATS checker is free to use, including a limited number of scans without an account.
Who we are
ResumeFit is built and run by a single independent developer based in India. There is no company behind it, no investors, and no team — one person writes the code, designs the templates, and answers the support email.
The project is genuinely new: it started in 2026 and is still early. We mention that because it is relevant when you are deciding whether to trust a tool with your resume. What it means in practice is that bugs get fixed quickly and support replies come from the person who wrote the feature, but also that you should tell us when something is wrong rather than assume it is known.
We are not affiliated with any applicant tracking system vendor, job board, or employer, and no company pays us to rank their tooling favourably in our guides. Email is the best way to reach us — see below.
Editorial approach
Our written guides are researched and edited by hand, one page at a time. We use AI tooling to help draft and structure material, but nothing is published without a human reading it end to end. We do not auto-generate pages in bulk. Where a guide makes a factual claim about how hiring software behaves, we would rather say plainly that practice varies than repeat a statistic we cannot source.
